整個規(guī)劃用地東臨長江，南側(cè)3公里為筆架山風景名勝區(qū)。優(yōu)越的區(qū)位、獨特的地形地貌為旅游度假區(qū)的打造提供了得天獨厚的先決條件。基址內(nèi)部地形變化較大，以低山和中山為主，部分以組團式形成臺地和洼地，高差較大，局部地區(qū)有斷崖存在。
